For over a century, only White people were allowed to become citizens in the U.S.A. with certain exceptions including African American former slaves and Indians. In the early 1920s, Eastern Europeans had a tougher time moving into the U.S.A. due to concerns of [[Communist]] revolutions happening there. However, in 1965 a longtime jewish representative from [[New York City]] [[Emanuel Celler]] wrote a bill called the [[Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965]] or better known as the Hart–Celler Act, which abolished quotas required to immigrate into the U.S.A., which resulted in a mass influx of immigrants from Latin America. Nowadays, you’re called racist for questioning it.
