Such life styles tend to be very high-stress and unstable; as such, societies that utilize that sort of economy tend to be very small and primitive. Foragers must move frequently in order to find new resources; as such, they are unable to develop the things necessary for any sort of civilization: architecture, literacy, organized religion, etc.
