On June 23, 2023 the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed that the Wagner Group was entering Rostov-on-Don and told the Ministry of Defence not to oppose his army, the Wagner Group turned back after a deal had been made, which was mediated by Alexander Lukashenko
