In this utopian world in which Jew-hatred was nothing but a bad memory, Hamas would have no reason to exist. Instead of building rockets and tunnels, the residents of Gaza could turn their coastal enclave into a paradise with a bustling economy and a high standard of living. Op-ed.

DOPE: Israel Hating UN Official Duped by Satirical “Chief Rabbi of Gaza” Into Agreeing to Speak at Anti-Israel Event.
 +
May 8, 2024.
 +
A notoriously anti-Israel United Nations official, Francesca Albanese, was tricked into agreeing to speak at an anti-Israel event at Columbia University by a satirical account posing as the “Chief Rabbi of Gaza.” The account, “Rabbi Linda Goldstein,” is known for mocking progressive anti-Israel talking points.
 +

 +
The Daily Wire, which published the hilarious idiocy of Albanese, revealed that “Goldstein” – who is actually a male lawyer whose name isn’t public – emailed Albanese, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian territories, inviting her to deliver a keynote address on the “Morality of Intifada” to thousands of students gathered at the Gaza solidarity encampment. Albanese’s research assistant, Eleonora De Martin, responded, asking for more details on the topic and length.
 +

 +
Despite being told the speech would defend “intifada,” De Martin maintained interest and asked about an honorarium. Goldstein offered a small honorarium, which De Martin requested be transferred to the “fellowship of her volunteer” due to official capacity restrictions.

BBC (fake) News – written by terrorists – the proof.
 +
May 8, 2024.
 +
This exclusive shows without doubt that the BBC puts out blatant fake news reports, and it also proves that the sources they rely upon for news include Al Jazeera, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad!
 +

 +
Hamas propaganda – the mass graves of Nasser Hospital.
 +
As part of the move south, the Israeli forces began to close in on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. In mid-January fighting between Israel and the terrorist factions became intense in the *vicinity* of the hospital.  Hamas propaganda channels were reporting dozens of casualties by January 22. On the same day, Palestinians began burying the bodies (almost certainly mostly dead terrorists) in the grounds of the hospital....
 +
Institutional problem.
 +
The above shows just how bad the situation has become. The BBC is sharing fake news provided to them by terrorist groups. But as I was putting this report together three additional BBC incidents occurred that can be used to show that the problem with the BBC appears unsalvageable.
 +

 +
One: On the 29 April the BBC ran a story by Adnan El-Bursh, the Gazan based BBC Arabic correspondent. In it El-Bursh describes his life in Gaza during the war. But the article also highlights the deep friendship between El-Bursh and Wael Al-Dahdouh – the man who runs the Al Jazeera office in Gaza. Al-Dahdouh spent seven years in an Israeli jail for throwing Molotov cocktails. Apparently he was affiliated with Islamic Jihad at the time. His brother, his son, over a dozen of his cousins, his nephews and his brother-in-law were all Islamic Jihad terrorists. His family is considered Islamic Jihad royalty. This is a man a BBC correspondent should whitewash, admire and respect?
 +

 +
Two: On May 1, another BBC Arabic journalist, Lebanon-based Rami Ruhayem, sent an email to BBC executives which downplayed the October 7 atrocities and incredibly suggested BBC material is biased towards Israel. And here is the truth. The BBC attempts balance between terrorist supporters and Israel supporters, between the terrorists and the democracy. In doing this it falls into a rabbit hole it cannot escape from. Not only is much of the material the BBC rely on anti-Israel junk, but it will never been enough for those who support the terrorists.
 +

 +
Three: On May 5, the BBC published an article about the student protest at Newcastle University. The article whitewashed the event – making it seem peaceful and benign. One of the leaders of the protest publicly celebrated October 7.  The BBC journalist did no research and clearly just wanted to paint the protestors in a positive light. It is impossible to imagine the BBC writing about far right protestors in such a fashion regardless of the physically passive nature of the protest.
 +

 +
This is the output of the BBC these days. It is not accidental. The anti-Israel virus is in the BBC’s very DNA. The BBC is producing fake news provided by terrorist groups. It really is difficult to see any way back from here.

A pro-Hamas student at Florida. International University let the cat out of the bag and admitted that the protests are “anti-Jewish” and not just anti-Israel.

In a classic case of the perpetrator playing the victim, the student complained that the pro-Hamas protesters are not being protected from counterprotesters.
 +

 +
“Are we as Arab, Palestinian, Muslim, and anti-Jewish students not worth protecting?” she asked.

House and Senate Republicans slammed U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to pause an arms shipment to Israel and demanded that the administration explain why it failed to notify Congress.

Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Ted Budd (R-N.C.) wrote to the Biden administration on Monday asking for answers about the frozen arms deal.

“We are shocked that your administration has reportedly decided to withhold critical ammunition to Israel,” the senators wrote.

Former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton tears into the pro-Palestinian protest movement that has swept across American colleges, calling them ignorant and lamenting that they’re being misinformed by propaganda on social media and in the classroom.
 +

 +
“I have had many conversations with a lot of young people over the last many months. They don’t know very much at all about the history of the Middle East or frankly about history in many areas of the world, including in our own country,” Clinton tells MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
 +

 +
“With respect to the Middle East, they don’t know that under the bringing together of the Israelis and the Palestinians by my husband — then-Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, the then-head of the Palestinian Liberation Organization Yasser Arafat — an offer was made to the Palestinians for a state on 96% of the existing territory occupied by the Palestinians with 4% of Israel to be given to reach 100% of the amount of territory that was hoped for.”
 +

 +
“This offer was made and if Yasser Arafat had accepted it there would have been a Palestinian state now for about 24 years. It’s one of the great tragedies of history that he was unable to say, ‘yes,'” Clinton laments.
 +

 +
“My husband has a book coming out later this year in which he talks about how Arafat kept saying that he intended to agree, he wanted to agree, but he was pretty sure he’d be killed because Sadat was killed by extremists when he made peace with Israel. Our dear, dear friend, Yitzhak Rabin was killed by a radical Israeli when he was pursuing the two-state solution.”
 +

 +
“This is a very important piece of history to understand if you’re going to take any kind of position regarding what’s going on right now,” the former US secretary of state says.
 +

 +
Turning to how these far-left college students have been misinformed, Clinton says they are being fed “propaganda” instead of receiving an education.
 +

 +
“Anybody who is teaching in a university or anyone who is putting content on social media should be held responsible for what they include and what they exclude. So much of what we’re seeing, particularly on TikTok, about what’s going on in the Middle East is willfully false, but it’s also incredibly slanted, pro-Hamas, anti-Israel.”
 +

 +
“It is not any place where anyone should go to get information about complex matters like what is going on there… People are on social media oftentimes to press an ideological, religious, financial or partisan political agenda. You don’t get the facts, you don’t get any kind of context.”
 +

 +
“We have to do a better job… with young people in trying to help them understand how to filter and interpret the information they’re getting.”
 +

 +
“We also need to do a better job in our classrooms, particularly at the college or university level, not to fall into easy absolutes — you’re either for or against. Life is too complicated, history certainly is.”

IDF says some 50 gunmen killed by troops in eastern Rafah; 150,000 civilians evacuated.

9 May 2024, 5:59 pm.
 +

 +
Amid the IDF’s ongoing operation in the eastern part of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, some 50 gunmen have been killed by troops, according to the latest estimates by the military.
 +

 +
Another 10 tunnel shafts have been found, and they are being prepared for demolition.
 +

 +
The operation was launched late Monday, following an IDF evacuation order of the area.
 +

 +
The military estimates that around 150,000 Palestinians have evacuated from the eastern Rafah area so far.
 +

 +
The IDF currently does not plan to expand the evacuation order to other areas of Rafah, as the ongoing operation remains relatively limited in scope amid hostage negotiations with Hamas.
 +

 +
Additionally, the Rafah Crossing with Egypt remains closed due to the IDF operations there, and it is still unclear what will subsequently happen with it.

UN Halves Its Estimate of Women and Children Killed in Gaza.
 +
Between May 6 and May 8, the UN cut in half its estimates of the number of women and children killed in Gaza. The estimates were based on Hamas numbers and are a reminder that all fatality estimates coming from that source are unreliable.
 +
Blog Post by Elliott Abrams.
 +
From the beginning of the Gaza war on October 7th, almost every statement about Palestinian fatalities has been based on Hamas numbers. The “Gaza Ministry of Health” or the “Government Media Office” are the usual sources, as if those words meant anything other than Hamas.
 +

 +
The UN claimed 23,084 dead by January 7. On February 29, NPR said more than 30,000 had been killed. Wikipedia says “As of May 8….over 34,2623 have been killed, 70% of them are  women and minors.” Time Magazine carried an article by a professor at the Columbia University School of Public Health on March 15 that claimed more than 30,000 were dead and said “Actually, the numbers are likely conservative. The science is extremely clear.” President Biden has used the 30,0000 figure himself, in his State of the Union speech.
 +

 +
It has become increasingly clear that these numbers represent Hamas propaganda. The best analysis was done by Prof. Abraham Wyner [https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/how-gaza-health-ministry-fakes-casualty-numbers] of the Wharton School at Penn, in an article in Tablet Magazine. He demonstrates conclusively that “The numbers are not real. That much is obvious to anyone who understands how naturally occurring numbers work. The casualties are not overwhelmingly women and children….”

Douglas Murray:
 +
'In the face of death cults, choose life.'
 +
Israel National News
 +

 +
Douglas Murray dedicated his Hamilton Award to the people of Israel for their national response to the October 7th massacre.
 +
British author Douglas Murray was honoured with the Hamilton Award recently, and in his speech mentioned the October 7th massacre and the resultant Swords of Iron War.
 +

 +
“On the 8th of October I went down to Times Square, and there were these men and women waving signs celebrating the massacre of the previous day. They weren't calling for a two-state solution,” he said.
 +

 +
“A couple of things were obvious - that I had to get to Israel as soon as I could, and that we were going to see a kind of Holocaust denialism in real time.
 +

 +
“I went and saw the massacre, the hospitals, the wounded, the morgues where they identified the dead. I also had the opportunity to witness Israel's response - unlike some countries today Israel doesn't just sit back with when it's attacked, much as some of the world would like it to do. I felt rather proud actually to go back through that fence with the IDF when they were going into Gaza in search of the hostages. I saw the tunnel networks that Hamas has spent all these years building with your money and mine. I was the first person allowed in to see the Hamas terrorists who'd committed the atrocities in the prison cells in which they're held.”
 +

 +
Murray added “I think often of the line from Deuteronomy 11:26, when God says 'I've set before you life and death, blessing and curse. You shall choose life, that you and your descendants might live,' and of the Psalmist 118:17 who said, 'I shall not die but I shall live.' When I think of October 7th now, I don't only think of the victims, I think of the extraordinary heroes.”
 +

 +
“A young man who's a friend of mine in his 30s woke up in Jerusalem and realized what was going on. He got into his car and drove south. He collected some guns, left a farewell message to his children and his wife on his phone, and then got a call from his company commander saying, 'You have to come back to base in Jerusalem.' He said 'No, we're needed in the south now.' His commander said, 'Are you defying an order?' He said, 'I'm defying an order. We're needed in the south.' He fought for the next forty-eight hours and survived.”
 +

 +
“I think of my friend Moshe, now my cameraman. The first day we were together, we donned our armor and helmets on the Gaza border, and I noted that he had a bullet mark down the top of his helmet. He explained that it was from the 7th - he every Saturday would go down to see a friend of his and he drove right into the middle of the firefight on the highway. He got out and killed three terrorists with his own gun that he carries. He fought for the next two days. He doesn't expect any applause, he just did what he had to do.”

 +
Two men who allegedly plotted to carry out an Islamic State-inspired gun attack against the Jewish community have appeared in court.
 +

 +
Walid Saadaoui, 36, of Crankwood Road, Abram, and Amar Hussein, 50, of no fixed abode, are accused of plotting a terror attack designed to cause "multiple fatalities using automatic weapons" in north-west England, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard on Tuesday.
 +

 +
The two men had intended to target "the Jewish community in the North West of England and members of both law enforcement and military" as part of an "Isil or Daesh-inspired terrorist attack", prosecutors told the court.
 +

 +
Both are charged with the preparation of terrorist acts between December 13 2023 and May 9 2024.
 +

 +
Bilel Saadaoui, 35, of Fairclough Street, Hindley, also appeared before the court accused of making arrangements for Walid Saadaoui - who is his brother - after his death.
 +

 +
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to disclose information about an act of terrorism between the same dates.
 +

 +
The defendants appeared separately in the dock, flanked by police officers and wearing grey sweatshirts.
 +

 +
Hussein, who represented himself and had an interpreter, did not speak to confirm his name, date of birth or address.
 +

 +
The other two men spoke only to confirm their identities.
 +

 +
Angelo Saponiere, defending Bilel Saadaoui, said his client was a "family man" who had not known of the alleged plans.
 +

 +
The men were arrested last week after Greater Manchester Police (GMP) executed four warrants in Bolton, Great Lever, Abram and Hindley.
 +

 +
District Judge Louisa Cieciora remanded all three men into custody to appear at the Old Bailey on May 24.
 +

 +
GMP Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts said the details of the case "will be understandably distressing and likely to have a significant impact on the communities within the Greater Manchester and beyond".
 +

 +
In a statement, he added: "Everyone should feel safe in our region regardless of their religion or race.
 +

 +
"We have been working closely with community groups and key stakeholders to address concerns and we'll continue to update them throughout this case.
 +

 +
"Local officers across Greater Manchester will continue to listen and act on concerns alongside partners to protect the public and keep you safe.
 +

 +
"The action we have taken so far follows a long-running and carefully managed investigation, and we do not believe that there is a wider risk to the public connected to this case.
 +

 +
"Should you have any concerns about your safety or any suspicious activity in your area, then I would encourage you to contact the police."

An Arab man threatened a Jewish man while in an online video discussion and showed off his Nazi flag. The racist piece of trash speaks perfect English and probably resides in the US somewhere, but without more information I have no idea.
 +

 +
While making threats against the Jewish man, the Muslim racist showed off his Nazi flag and expressed his admiration of Adolf Hitler.

A group of ultra-Orthodox children who were playing on a sidewalk in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, were attacked by a man riding a bicycle. A video of the attack, which happened a week ago, was published over the weekend in the United States and caused great outrage. Police are investigating and as of Sunday no suspect has been arrested.
 +

 +
Ultra-Orthodox children were brutally kicked and punched in Williamsburg.
 +

 +
In the security camera footage of the incident, the attacker is seen punching one child in the face, knocking him to the ground, and then throwing another child to the ground, kicking him repeatedly. The children fled the scene, and the man got on his bicycle and rode away.
 +

 +
According to the New York Police Department, another person not seen in the video was injured in the incident. The assailant attacked a father and his son who were also on the sidewalk in the same area. The suspect pushed the father to the ground, causing a light head injury, before fleeing.
 +
In another antisemitic attack, a 14-year-old girl was brutally assaulted by another student for being Jewish.
 +
The victim, a 14-year-old Israeli-Canadian from New Brunswick, Canada, told the Canadian Jewish News that she was attacked last month. The attack was recorded on video, and took place in the afternoon in a parking lot near the school grounds.
 +
In a video posted on social media, a student can be seen running toward the teen, slamming her to the ground and punching her repeatedly near bystanders. An elderly man stood by a few meters from the attack and watched it take place.
 +
The girl was severely attacked and suffered cuts, scratches and bruises.
 +
According to the girl, the attacker has been harassing her for two months. She said that she tried to avoid a confrontation with the attacker that day, after she had been suspended for five days. When the student who attacked her returned to school, the Israeli-Canadian girl was advised to use the teachers' bathroom, stay in the school building during the day, and not leave alone.

 +
The Toronto police hate crimes unit is investigating after a local synagogue was vandalized for the second time in four weeks, The Canadian Press reported.
 +

 +
Rabbi Joe Kanofsky said windows and glass doors at the Kehillat Shaarei Torah Synagogue in the city’s north end were smashed in the early hours of Friday morning.
 +

 +
Rabbi Kanofsky said the synagogue was a target of similar vandalism in late April, and no one was injured in either incident.
 +

 +
He added that police responded quickly on Friday and collected surveillance video from the scene.
 +

 +
Toronto police confirmed that officers responded to a call about property damage and said the hate crimes unit is investigating.
 +

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned the attack in a post on social media.

“Last night, the windows and doors of Kehillat Shaarei Torah were smashed, one month after an individual broke the same Toronto synagogue's windows with a hammer,” the organization wrote.
 +

 +
“We are utterly horrified by this repeat attack. Jews deserve to feel safe at their places of worship, and not be targeted with such acts of violence,” it added.
 +

 +
Toronto and the area have seen an increase in anti-Israel riots and acts of antisemitism since the start of Israel’s war against Hamas on October 7.
 +

 +
In early November, an Indigo book store in downtown Toronto was vandalized with red paint and posters plastered on its front windows wrongfully accusing its Jewish founder and CEO, Heather Reisman, of “Funding Genocide.”
 +

 +
In January, a Jewish-owned grocery store in Toronto was spray-painted with the words “Free Palestine” and later set on fire.
 +

 +
Days later, Toronto police arrested four people on a highway overpass, located near a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, that has become the site of recurring pro-Palestinian Arab protests.
 +

 +
In February, an anti-Israel protest at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto turned into a display of antisemitism. At least one protester was documented scaling the hospital with a Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) flag.
 +

 +
Last month, posters in Toronto depicting four-year-old Ariel Bibas and one-year-old Kfir Bibas, who were kidnapped to Gaza on October 7 along with their parents Shiri and Yarden Bibas, were vandalized with swastikas.
 +

 +
Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw said in March that the number of calls reporting hate crimes in the city has surged since the start of the Israel-Hamas war and that more than half of those crimes have targeted the Jewish community.

New York: Anti-Israel protesters arrested in Brooklyn.
 +
At least a dozen arrested after Pro-Palestinian Arab demonstrators march in Bay Ridge and clash with officers.
 +
Israel National News, May 19, 2024, 6:55 AM (GMT+3)
 +

 +
Police arrested at least a dozen protesters on Saturday afternoon as a crowd of pro-Palestinian Arab demonstrators marched in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, reports The New York Daily News.
 +

 +
Violence erupted when observers said a large number of police officers tried to push the group of some 200 or more marchers, waving Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) flags, onto the sidewalk along Fifth Ave. near Ovington Ave. on the local shopping strip in the heavily Arab-American neighborhood.
 +

 +
Posted videos show officers struggling with several demonstrators in a general melee.
 +

 +
The protest, held by the organization Within Our Lifetime, was called the “Nakba 76”...
 +

 +
Video posted on X by the organizing group showed protesters chanting, “Muslim cops, what do you say? How many kids did you beat today?”, to the beat of a drum, while some set off green and red smoke flares.
 +

 +
The NYPD could not immediately confirm the number of protesters arrested.
 +

 +
Anti-Israel demonstrations have been on the rise in New York, as well as in other cities across the US, since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 and the war in Gaza which followed.
 +

 +
Last week, hundreds of anti-Israel protesters took over the Manhattan Bridge, blocking vehicles on the bridge’s upper level and stalling traffic.
 +

 +
Some of the protesters, as well as journalists on hand reporting on the demonstration, were taken into custody.
 +

 +
Days earlier, a Jewish man was assaulted during an anti-Israel demonstration intended to disrupt the Met Gala.
 +

 +
In late March, hundreds of anti-Israel protesters descended on Radio City Music Hall ahead of President Joe Biden’s campaign fundraiser as part of a “Flood Manhattan for Gaza” demonstration.
 +

 +
“Free, free Palestine!” the group chanted. Others yelled “F—k Joe Biden” and “Genocide[sic] Joe has got to go!”
 +

 +
A month before that, multiple anti-Israel protesters were arrested after they used cars to halt traffic at the Brooklyn Bridge and two major tunnels during rush hour.

London — Rishi Sunak took direct aim at the International Criminal Court (ICC) after it sought arrest warrants against both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Arguing there is no “moral equivalence” between the two sides in the wake of the October 7 attacks on Israel, the British prime minister insisted Tuesday that the court’s move would make “absolutely no difference” to wider peace in the Middle East.

United States lawmakers are considering imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) if it issues an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that Congress is exploring all options to punish the ICC for threatening Israeli leaders. He said that the ICC had no authority over Israel or the US and called the decision baseless and illegitimate.

US: Israel killed a third of Hamas terrorists
 +
Still, some 65% of Gaza's terror tunnels remain intact, according to U.S. intelligence.
 +

 +
(May 22, 2024 /  JNS)
 +
Israel has eliminated only around a third of the Hamas terrorists and tunnels in Gaza since the start of the war on Oct. 7, Politico reported on Tuesday, citing U.S. intelligence estimates.
 +

 +
“Although Hamas’ communications and military abilities have been degraded, only 30 to 35 percent of its fighters—those who were a part of Hamas before the Oct. 7 attack—have been killed and about 65 percent of its tunnels are still intact, U.S. intelligence indicates,” the Virginia-based news outlet stated.
 +

 +
According to Western officials, thousands of Hamas terrorists have been able to evade the Israel Defense Forces by hiding in Gaza’s vast subterranean tunnel network, while others have mixed into the civilian population.

 +
Opinion: Anti-Israel protesters employ tactics similar to those used by terrorists: increasing demands when met with weakness and playing victim when held accountable
 +
Atar Porat | published: 05.23.24|11:00
 +
...The Pro-Hamas protesters on US college campuses are one kind of such terrorists. They may not murder people, but they have the same mentality, and their actions are guided by straightforward principles. They are more than willing to use force and intimidation, to force the university to heed to their demands...
 +
Minouche Shafik, Columbia University president, said that they “tried very hard to resolve the issue of the encampments through dialogue”, and added that many people who gathered there were largely “peaceful”. ...
 +
This Orwellian language that attempts to present the violent mob that took over the campus as a reasonable “side” in a debate, using very delicate and exalting phrases, is an indication of the moral rot that Ivy League campuses have reached.  This groveling to the demands of hooligans makes the universities seem even weaker than before and only incentivizes further chaos.
 +
Another noteworthy incident was Brown University’s decision to reward the student agitators who broke the university’s code of conduct and allow 5 of them to meet members of the Corporation of Brown University “to present their arguments to divest Brown’s endowment from ‘companies that facilitate the Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territory."
 +
The University sent the message that it was willing to avoid conflict at all costs which is an invitation for the next agitators to create chaos to get their way, without facing any consequences. The University said in a statement “Students agreed to remove the encampment and refrain from further actions that would violate Brown’s conduct code through the end of the academic year”. In other words, the terrorist students engage in racketeering in broad day light and the university is willing to obsequiously agree to the demands hoisted on it...

 +
The protesters’ tactic is mirroring Hamas’ playbook- first attack, then start negotiations, stand your ground while your opponent makes concessions, increase your demands and when you face opposition play the victim card with no accountability for your actions. This strategy works only because universities have incentivized protestors in the first place...

Why ICC’s ingrained bias ensures no fair ‘trials’ for Israel.
 +
May 24, 2024 | Greg Rose
 +

 +
The request for an arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defence Minister, made by the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor, is unsurprising, but not for the reasons many might think.
 +

 +
An integral purpose of the ICC’s political project has always been to delegitimise Israel. A target was drawn on Israel in the 1990s during the drafting of the Rome Statute for the ICC. The Organisation for Islamic Cooperation made this a condition of participation by Muslim countries. With 57 members, the OIC is the world’s biggest organisation by membership (other than the UN itself). Its participation was necessary for the global criminal law project to proceed.
 +

 +
The OIC required that the ICC definition of forced transfer of civilian populations be expanded as a war crime. New language introduced into the Rome Statute criminalised voluntary civilian migration of Jews into the areas of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria now called the West Bank. Although the ICC statute codified other existing war crimes, this became a new retrospective war crime invented in the Rome Statute.
 +

 +
This crime of allowing Jews to live voluntarily in the West Bank and Jerusalem has been under examination in the ICC since 2014. The previous chief prosecutor, in close liaison with Palestinian bodies and advisers from the OIC, geared the examination up to a prosecutorial investigation in 2020.
 +

 +
The ICC is an effective tool to delegitimise Israel only if actively used by ICC staff. This brings into focus the role and politics of its chief prosecutors. Karim Khan, the current chief prosecutor, had as his mentor and godfather Sir Muhammad Zafarullah Khan, Pakistan’s first foreign minister, who opposed the Jewish state’s establishment and existence throughout his career, including during his presidency of the UN General Assembly. They corresponded every week and stayed together when the elder Khan was in Britain. Khan describes the elder Khan’s influence as pivotal.
 +

 +
The previous chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, had been legal adviser and attorney-general in her home country, Gabon, under the dictatorship of Yahyah Jammeh, overseeing disappearances, political prosecutions and torture. Questionable dealings ran in the family, with her husband a bulk oil dealer in North Africa and her son a drug trafficker in the US.
 +

 +
Like dodgy police setting up false evidence for prosecution of a trafficker fallen from their favour, the ICC prosecutors set up dubious charges against Israel. These are based largely on evidence assembled by anti-Israel NGOs who solicit Palestinian testimony that is partial and prejudicial. The prosecutors then put forward questionable interpretations of international law rules that novelly apply only to Israel.
 +

 +
For instance, a charge issued by Khan focused on alleging insufficient aid flows into Gaza, arguing this amounts to the war crime of using starvation as a weapon of war. But the ICC prosecutor ignored several of the most salient facts, such as Hamas attacks on border crossings (thus interrupting aid flows), Hamas’s seizure of aid convoys and stealing of aid, and its booby-trapping homes and its destruction of Gaza infrastructure, particularly water pipelines and electricity transmission lines.
 +

 +
Khan contradicts the basic rules of international law of armed conflict allowing attacks on combatants by treating Hamas combatants embedded in urban areas as civilians. He also invents a perverse rule requiring the direct provision of humanitarian aid to the enemy in armed conflict.
 +

 +
The networks of such prejudicial influence extend well beyond the ICC into other legal institutions. Sir Muhammad Zafarullah Khan was also a president of the UN International Court of Justice, just like the current president of the ICJ, Nawaf Salam. Judge Salam was the Lebanese ambassador to the UN, where he was well known for constant invective against Israel. Unsurprisingly, he is not withdrawing or recusing himself in the current cases against Israel.
 +

 +
Egyptian and Jordanian judges in the ICJ were similarly pleased to execute judgments against Israel, despite their obvious bias from previous high-level national political roles.
 +

 +
Although a principle of the rule of law is that of the impartial judge, for which the disqualifying threshold is a reasonable apprehension of bias, this fundamental rule has no traction in the international justice system.ICC prosecutor Khan pretends Israel must be held to account equally with others. But the problem is not a failure to hold Israel to account, it is a more fundamental failure to treat Israel equally under law. Just as Jews were once excluded from polite society, and subjected to double standards, today Israel is treated as the Jew of the nations to be excluded from international society.
 +

 +
The international legal system is politicised. It is a function of the UN, which in turn is a political institution dominated by non-democratic states. They drive forward their own narrow anti-Semitic interests with the cynical support of hypocrites. Of course, the ICC charges are no surprise.

UN Official Duped By Fake Rabbi’s Invite To Speak On ‘Morality Of Intifada’ At Anti-Israel Protest. Francesca Albanese asked for an honorarium to be transferred to the 'fellowship of her volunteer' for speech on 'morality of intifada' By Kassy Akiva. May 7, 2024. DailyWire.com DailyWire

DOPE: Israel Hating UN Official Duped by Satirical “Chief Rabbi of Gaza” Into Agreeing to Speak at Anti-Israel Event. May 8, 2024.

Despite being told the speech would defend “intifada,” De Martin maintained interest and asked about an honorarium. Goldstein offered a small honorarium, which De Martin requested be transferred to the “fellowship of her volunteer” due to official capacity restrictions. YWN.

BBC (fake) News – written by terrorists – the proof. May 8, 2024. This exclusive shows without doubt that the BBC puts out blatant fake news reports, and it also proves that the sources they rely upon for news include Al Jazeera, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad!

Hamas propaganda – the mass graves of Nasser Hospital. Institutional problem. The above shows just how bad the situation has become. The BBC is sharing fake news provided to them by terrorist groups. But as I was putting this report together three additional BBC incidents occurred that can be used to show that the problem with the BBC appears unsalvageable.

Two: On May 1, another BBC Arabic journalist, Lebanon-based Rami Ruhayem, sent an email to BBC executives which downplayed the October 7 atrocities and incredibly suggested BBC material is biased towards Israel. And here is the truth. The BBC attempts balance between terrorist supporters and Israel supporters, between the terrorists and the democracy. In doing this it falls into a rabbit hole it cannot escape from. Not only is much of the material the BBC rely on anti-Israel junk, but it will never been enough for those who support the terrorists.

This is the output of the BBC these days. It is not accidental. The anti-Israel virus is in the BBC’s very DNA. The BBC is producing fake news provided by terrorist groups. It really is difficult to see any way back from here. David Collier

Hillary Clinton slams anti-Israel protests on college campuses, says students have been fed propaganda. By Jacob Magid. 09 May, 2024, 11:53 pm

Former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton tears into the pro-Palestinian protest movement that has swept across American colleges, calling them ignorant and lamenting that they’re being misinformed by propaganda on social media and in the classroom.

“I have had many conversations with a lot of young people over the last many months. They don’t know very much at all about the history of the Middle East or frankly about history in many areas of the world, including in our own country,” Clinton tells MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

“This offer was made and if Yasser Arafat had accepted it there would have been a Palestinian state now for about 24 years. It’s one of the great tragedies of history that he was unable to say, ‘yes,'” Clinton laments.

“This is a very important piece of history to understand if you’re going to take any kind of position regarding what’s going on right now,” the former US secretary of state says.

Turning to how these far-left college students have been misinformed, Clinton says they are being fed “propaganda” instead of receiving an education.

“Anybody who is teaching in a university or anyone who is putting content on social media should be held responsible for what they include and what they exclude. IDF says some 50 gunmen killed by troops in eastern Rafah; 150,000 civilians evacuated. By Emanuel Fabian. 9 May 2024, 5:59 pm.

Amid the IDF’s ongoing operation in the eastern part of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, some 50 gunmen have been killed by troops, according to the latest estimates by the military.

Another 10 tunnel shafts have been found, and they are being prepared for demolition.

The operation was launched late Monday, following an IDF evacuation order of the area.

The military estimates that around 150,000 Palestinians have evacuated from the eastern Rafah area so far.

The IDF currently does not plan to expand the evacuation order to other areas of Rafah, as the ongoing operation remains relatively limited in scope amid hostage negotiations with Hamas.

Additionally, the Rafah Crossing with Egypt remains closed due to the IDF operations there, and it is still unclear what will subsequently happen with it. TOI

Bennett: War against Hamas would be 'done in three days' if Israel didn't care about civilian casualties. UN Halves Its Estimate of Women and Children Killed in Gaza. Between May 6 and May 8, the UN cut in half its estimates of the number of women and children killed in Gaza. The estimates were based on Hamas numbers and are a reminder that all fatality estimates coming from that source are unreliable. Blog Post by Elliott Abrams. From the beginning of the Gaza war on October 7th, almost every statement about Palestinian fatalities has been based on Hamas numbers. The “Gaza Ministry of Health” or the “Government Media Office” are the usual sources, as if those words meant anything other than Hamas.

It has become increasingly clear that these numbers represent Hamas propaganda. The best analysis was done by Prof. Abraham Wyner [5] of the Wharton School at Penn, in an article in Tablet Magazine. He demonstrates conclusively that “The numbers are not real. That much is obvious to anyone who understands how naturally occurring numbers work. The casualties are not overwhelmingly women and children….” May 12, 2024 11:44 am (EST). CFR

Douglas Murray: 'In the face of death cults, choose life.' Israel National News May 14, 2024, 1:00 PM Douglas Murray dedicated his Hamilton Award to the people of Israel for their national response to the October 7th massacre. British author Douglas Murray was honoured with the Hamilton Award recently, and in his speech mentioned the October 7th massacre and the resultant Swords of Iron War.

“On the 8th of October I went down to Times Square, and there were these men and women waving signs celebrating the massacre of the previous day. They weren't calling for a two-state solution,” he said.

“A couple of things were obvious - that I had to get to Israel as soon as I could, and that we were going to see a kind of Holocaust denialism in real time.

He doesn't expect any applause, he just did what he had to do.” INN

U.S. President Joe Biden sent a special letter to President Isaac Herzog on Tuesday marking Israel's 76th Independence Day. "The United States' commitment to Israel's security is ironclad. It's critical that our countries work together to increase security and peace for Israel and the entire region.," Biden wrote in the letter.

In the opening of the letter, Biden wrote, " The United States is proud of our enduring relationship with Israel. As the first country to recognize Israel as an independent state in 1948, our bonds are underpinned by shared democratic values, common interests, and cultural affinities."

He added, “This past year has been deeply painful, as Israel suffered the worst attack in its history on October 7, 2023. But the people of Israel have shown tremendous strength and resilience." “I look forward to our nations’ continuing to work together to forge a brighter future for all our people, I hope that the coming year brings more peace and joy than suffering,” he concluded. Other than the U.S., warm wishes were also sent from India. Indian President Droupadi Murmu wrote on her Twitter account in English and Hebrew: " I join the people of India in conveying our best wishes to President Isaac Herzog, and the people of Israel on the 76th anniversary of Israel’s independence.” The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also sent their wishes: " We extend our congratulations and best wishes to Israel on Independence Day! Two men in UK court accused of machine gun plot to kill Jewish people. Charges against Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein detail planned to carry out an attack inspired by the Islamic State using automatic weapons they acquired. Reuters | published:05.14.24 | 21:47 YNet

Three men in court over ‘Isis-inspired’ plot to kill Jews in north-west England. The men are accused of planning to use automatic weapons to cause ‘multiple fatalities.’ By JC Reporter. May 14, 2024 16:00 Two men who allegedly plotted to carry out an Islamic State-inspired gun attack against the Jewish community have appeared in court.

The two men had intended to target "the Jewish community in the North West of England and members of both law enforcement and military" as part of an "Isil or Daesh-inspired terrorist attack", prosecutors told the court.

Both are charged with the preparation of terrorist acts between December 13 2023 and May 9 2024.

Bilel Saadaoui, 35, of Fairclough Street, Hindley, also appeared before the court accused of making arrangements for Walid Saadaoui - who is his brother - after his death.

He pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to disclose information about an act of terrorism between the same dates.

The defendants appeared separately in the dock, flanked by police officers and wearing grey sweatshirts.

Hussein, who represented himself and had an interpreter, did not speak to confirm his name, date of birth or address.

The other two men spoke only to confirm their identities.

Angelo Saponiere, defending Bilel Saadaoui, said his client was a "family man" who had not known of the alleged plans.

The men were arrested last week after Greater Manchester Police (GMP) executed four warrants in Bolton, Great Lever, Abram and Hindley.

District Judge Louisa Cieciora remanded all three men into custody to appear at the Old Bailey on May 24.

GMP Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts said the details of the case "will be understandably distressing and likely to have a significant impact on the communities within the Greater Manchester and beyond".

In a statement, he added: "Everyone should feel safe in our region regardless of their religion or race.

"We have been working closely with community groups and key stakeholders to address concerns and we'll continue to update them throughout this case.

"Local officers across Greater Manchester will continue to listen and act on concerns alongside partners to protect the public and keep you safe.

"The action we have taken so far follows a long-running and carefully managed investigation, and we do not believe that there is a wider risk to the public connected to this case.

"Should you have any concerns about your safety or any suspicious activity in your area, then I would encourage you to contact the police." TheJC

NYC Council speaker forces pols to take down political signs — including Israeli hostage posters. By Craig McCarthy and Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Published May 15, 2024 Updated May 15, 2024, 3:01 p.m. ET ...Big Apple lawmakers are being forced to strip their desks clean of any political signs — including pro-Israel posters and flyers — in a controversial move by City Council speaker Adrienne Adams that has sparked outrage, The Post has learned.

The speaker, who is not related to Mayor Eric Adams, first floated the plan during a conference with other council Democrats Monday as she tries to tamp down rhetoric between lawmakers over the Israel-Hamas war, sources said.

“This is a shameful, disgusting excuse of a power flex, used to curtail my freedom of expression,” Councilwoman Inna Vernikov (R-Brooklyn) railed.

"My colleagues have a constitutional right to hang a ‘Cease-fire now’ poster, no matter how much I disagree with them. I have a right to display a poster of a hostage, no matter how much my colleagues disagree with my message." NYpost

An Arab man threatened a Jewish man while in an online video discussion and showed off his Nazi flag. The racist piece of trash speaks perfect English and probably resides in the US somewhere, but without more information I have no idea.

While making threats against the Jewish man, the Muslim racist showed off his Nazi flag and expressed his admiration of Adolf Hitler.

The video below contains curses and threats, so be forewarned:

A group of ultra-Orthodox children who were playing on a sidewalk in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, were attacked by a man riding a bicycle. A video of the attack, which happened a week ago, was published over the weekend in the United States and caused great outrage. Police are investigating and as of Sunday no suspect has been arrested.

Ultra-Orthodox children were brutally kicked and punched in Williamsburg.

In the security camera footage of the incident, the attacker is seen punching one child in the face, knocking him to the ground, and then throwing another child to the ground, kicking him repeatedly. The children fled the scene, and the man got on his bicycle and rode away.

According to the New York Police Department, another person not seen in the video was injured in the incident. The assailant attacked a father and his son who were also on the sidewalk in the same area. The suspect pushed the father to the ground, causing a light head injury, before fleeing. In another antisemitic attack, a 14-year-old girl was brutally assaulted by another student for being Jewish. The victim, a 14-year-old Israeli-Canadian from New Brunswick, Canada, told the Canadian Jewish News that she was attacked last month. The attack was recorded on video, and took place in the afternoon in a parking lot near the school grounds. In a video posted on social media, a student can be seen running toward the teen, slamming her to the ground and punching her repeatedly near bystanders. An elderly man stood by a few meters from the attack and watched it take place. The girl was severely attacked and suffered cuts, scratches and bruises. YNet

Toronto synagogue vandalized for the second time in four weeks. Toronto police hate crimes unit investigating after windows and glass doors were smashed at the Kehillat Shaarei Torah Synagogue. Similar vandalism occurred at the same synagogue in late April. Elad Benari, Canada, May 18, 2024, 1:01 AM (GMT+3)

The Toronto police hate crimes unit is investigating after a local synagogue was vandalized for the second time in four weeks, The Canadian Press reported.

Rabbi Joe Kanofsky said windows and glass doors at the Kehillat Shaarei Torah Synagogue in the city’s north end were smashed in the early hours of Friday morning.

Rabbi Kanofsky said the synagogue was a target of similar vandalism in late April, and no one was injured in either incident.

He added that police responded quickly on Friday and collected surveillance video from the scene.

Toronto police confirmed that officers responded to a call about property damage and said the hate crimes unit is investigating.

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned the attack in a post on social media. [8] [9] “Last night, the windows and doors of Kehillat Shaarei Torah were smashed, one month after an individual broke the same Toronto synagogue's windows with a hammer,” the organization wrote.

“We are utterly horrified by this repeat attack. Jews deserve to feel safe at their places of worship, and not be targeted with such acts of violence,” it added.

Toronto and the area have seen an increase in anti-Israel riots and acts of antisemitism since the start of Israel’s war against Hamas on October 7.

In early November, an Indigo book store in downtown Toronto was vandalized with red paint and posters plastered on its front windows wrongfully accusing its Jewish founder and CEO, Heather Reisman, of “Funding Genocide.”

In January, a Jewish-owned grocery store in Toronto was spray-painted with the words “Free Palestine” and later set on fire.

Days later, Toronto police arrested four people on a highway overpass, located near a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, that has become the site of recurring pro-Palestinian Arab protests.

In February, an anti-Israel protest at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto turned into a display of antisemitism. At least one protester was documented scaling the hospital with a Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) flag.

Last month, posters in Toronto depicting four-year-old Ariel Bibas and one-year-old Kfir Bibas, who were kidnapped to Gaza on October 7 along with their parents Shiri and Yarden Bibas, were vandalized with swastikas.

Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw said in March that the number of calls reporting hate crimes in the city has surged since the start of the Israel-Hamas war and that more than half of those crimes have targeted the Jewish community. INN

New York: Anti-Israel protesters arrested in Brooklyn. At least a dozen arrested after Pro-Palestinian Arab demonstrators march in Bay Ridge and clash with officers. Israel National News, May 19, 2024, 6:55 AM (GMT+3)

Police arrested at least a dozen protesters on Saturday afternoon as a crowd of pro-Palestinian Arab demonstrators marched in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, reports The New York Daily News.

Posted videos show officers struggling with several demonstrators in a general melee.

The protest, held by the organization Within Our Lifetime, was called the “Nakba 76”...

Video posted on X by the organizing group showed protesters chanting, “Muslim cops, what do you say? How many kids did you beat today?”, to the beat of a drum, while some set off green and red smoke flares.

The NYPD could not immediately confirm the number of protesters arrested.

Anti-Israel demonstrations have been on the rise in New York, as well as in other cities across the US, since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 and the war in Gaza which followed.

Last week, hundreds of anti-Israel protesters took over the Manhattan Bridge, blocking vehicles on the bridge’s upper level and stalling traffic.

Some of the protesters, as well as journalists on hand reporting on the demonstration, were taken into custody.

Days earlier, a Jewish man was assaulted during an anti-Israel demonstration intended to disrupt the Met Gala.

In late March, hundreds of anti-Israel protesters descended on Radio City Music Hall ahead of President Joe Biden’s campaign fundraiser as part of a “Flood Manhattan for Gaza” demonstration.

“Free, free Palestine!” the group chanted. Others yelled “F—k Joe Biden” and “Genocide[sic] Joe has got to go!”

A month before that, multiple anti-Israel protesters were arrested after they used cars to halt traffic at the Brooklyn Bridge and two major tunnels during rush hour. INN

US: Israel killed a third of Hamas terrorists Still, some 65% of Gaza's terror tunnels remain intact, according to U.S. intelligence.

(May 22, 2024 / JNS) Israel has eliminated only around a third of the Hamas terrorists and tunnels in Gaza since the start of the war on Oct. 7, Politico reported on Tuesday, citing U.S. intelligence estimates.

According to Western officials, thousands of Hamas terrorists have been able to evade the Israel Defense Forces by hiding in Gaza’s vast subterranean tunnel network, while others have mixed into the civilian population. JNS

Opinion: Anti-Israel protesters employ tactics similar to those used by terrorists: increasing demands when met with weakness and playing victim when held accountable Atar Porat | published: 05.23.24|11:00 ...The Pro-Hamas protesters on US college campuses are one kind of such terrorists. They may not murder people, but they have the same mentality, and their actions are guided by straightforward principles. They are more than willing to use force and intimidation, to force the university to heed to their demands... Minouche Shafik, Columbia University president, said that they “tried very hard to resolve the issue of the encampments through dialogue”, and added that many people who gathered there were largely “peaceful”. ... Another noteworthy incident was Brown University’s decision to reward the student agitators who broke the university’s code of conduct and allow 5 of them to meet members of the Corporation of Brown University “to present their arguments to divest Brown’s endowment from ‘companies that facilitate the Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territory." The University sent the message that it was willing to avoid conflict at all costs which is an invitation for the next agitators to create chaos to get their way, without facing any consequences. The University said in a statement “Students agreed to remove the encampment and refrain from further actions that would violate Brown’s conduct code through the end of the academic year”. In other words, the terrorist students engage in racketeering in broad day light and the university is willing to obsequiously agree to the demands hoisted on it...

YNet

Why ICC’s ingrained bias ensures no fair ‘trials’ for Israel. May 24, 2024 | Greg Rose

The request for an arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defence Minister, made by the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor, is unsurprising, but not for the reasons many might think.

Khan contradicts the basic rules of international law of armed conflict allowing attacks on combatants by treating Hamas combatants embedded in urban areas as civilians. He also invents a perverse rule requiring the direct provision of humanitarian aid to the enemy in armed conflict.

Egyptian and Jordanian judges in the ICJ were similarly pleased to execute judgments against Israel, despite their obvious bias from previous high-level national political roles.

The international legal system is politicised. It is a function of the UN, which in turn is a political institution dominated by non-democratic states. They drive forward their own narrow anti-Semitic interests with the cynical support of hypocrites. Of course, the ICC charges are no surprise.

Greg Rose is a professor of law at the University of Wollongong, a senior fellow of The Hague Initiative for International Cooperation and a visiting fellow at AIJAC.

Top Un Court Calls For Israel To End Anti-hamas Operations In Rafah. May 24, 2024

The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the United Nations’ top court, on May 24 called for Israel to end its operations in Rafah, “which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that may bring about its physical destruction, in whole or in part.” Four intact Hamas battalions remain in Rafah, which is a key hub for smuggling weapons into the coastal enclave. Judge Nawaf Salam, who was elected head of the ICJ on February 6 and has a history of anti-Israel bias, said he was not convinced that Israeli efforts to evacuate Rafah were sufficient to alleviate Palestinian suffering.

Responding to the ICJ decision, Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz said, “We will continue to act according to international law in Rafah and wherever we operate, and make an effort to avoid harming the civilian population. Not because of The Hague tribunal but first of all because of who we are.”

Expert Analysis. “This is another day of shame for the ICJ in its discriminatory treatment of Israel. Let’s not forget that this case was brought by South Africa — a country disgraced by a leadership that actively supports Hamas and that tars Israel with the defamatory accusation of ‘genocide.’ Israel, which has undertaken a major effort to move more than a million civilians out of Rafah to safety in advance of its operation to defeat Hamas in that city, will rightly disdain this ruling.” — Mark Dubowitz, FDD CEO

“The ICJ vindicated Hamas’s strategy of hiding behind civilians in order to put Israel behind bars. This will tarnish the court’s reputation more than Israel’s.” — David May, FDD Research Manager and Senior Research Analyst

South Africa Submitted Multiple Requests to Halt Israeli Anti-Hamas Operations. On December 29, 2023, South Africa submitted an application to the ICJ alleging that Israel is violating the Genocide Convention, which defines genocide as one of several specified acts, including killing members of a group, when such acts are “committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as such.” Israel has called the accusation — that its response to the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust constitutes genocide — “blood libel.”

Following hearings held between January 11 and January 12, the ICJ issued a provisional order on January 26 that rejected South Africa’s request to order Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza. So far, South Africa has submitted three “urgent request[s] for additional measures.” In response to one of these requests, Israel submitted a lengthy report on April 28 detailing the measures it has implemented to protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

South African Case an ‘Inversion of Reality’ South Africa submitted its most recent request on May 10 over Israel’s “assault on Rafah.” South Africa and Israel presented their cases before the court on May 16 and May 17, respectively. Israeli Deputy Attorney General Gilad Noam hotly disputed South Africa’s characterization of its Rafah campaign as an act of “genocide,” asserting that Israel was carrying out “limited and localized operations prefaced with evacuation efforts and support for humanitarian activities.”

Noam called the case an “inversion of reality,” saying that South Africa “makes a mockery of the heinous charge of genocide.” Noam reminded the court, “Rafah also serves as a military stronghold for Hamas, which continues to pose a significant threat to the State of Israel and its citizens.” Noam noted that on May 11, the day after it submitted its most recent urgent request, South African foreign minister Naledi Pandor met with Hamas representatives in South Africa. ICJ shows ‘predilection’ for Jew-hatred, says ranking Senate Foreign Relations Committee member. “The so-called ‘court’ has this all backwards,” said Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho).

(May 24, 2024 / JNS) The principal judicial arm of the United Nations in The Hague, the International Court of Justice, “has shown its hate, bias and its predilection for antisemitism” in its Friday ruling that Israel must stop its military campaign against the Hamas terror group in Rafah, according to Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho).

“The so-called ‘court’ has this all backwards—those on the court would do well to make a ruling against Hamas demanding that Hamas release the hostages, cease fire, and lay down their weapons and stop this war,” said Risch, ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“In particular, I am disgusted to learn an American judge voted for this ruling,” the senator said. “The ICJ is both morally and structurally bankrupt, and the United States should immediately cut off its funding to this prejudiced organization.”

“The U.N. has chosen to support terrorists who use hostages as weapons rather than support a sovereign nation that seeks to defend its citizens,” he added. “Israel has the right to defend itself and do all it can to eliminate Hamas terrorists who have plainly stated they wish to wipe Israel and the Jewish people off the map.” JNS

Israeli, international figures react to ‘antisemitic’ ICJ ruling. By Rina Bassist, Jerusalem Post Staff. May 24, 2024. Following the ICJ's ruling on Friday, forcing Israel to halt its operations against Hamas in Rafah, many politicians and various experts expressed their opinions on the ICJ and its ruling. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, fellow members of Knesset, and Jewish organizations around the world expressed their shock and disappointment following the ICJ's ruling on Friday, demanding the IDF halt all operations in Rafah.

Israeli reactions. In response to these rulings, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said: "The irrelevant order of the antisemitic court in The Hague should have only one answer: the occupation of Rafah, the increase of military pressure and the complete destruction of Hamas - until the complete victory in the war is achieved."

Strategic affairs Minister, Ron Dermer, said, "That Jews are treated differently is not a new story but a more than 2,000 year old story that is based on ancient hatred. Every year, the Human Rights Council passes more resolutions against Israel than all the other countries in the world combined."

"What the ICJ prosecutor has done will fuel the fires of antisemitism, which is raging across the world, because people will assume the charges carry weight. But the charges are totally false and the prosecutor didn’t even bother to learn the facts," Dermer stated.

Dr. Charles Asher Small, Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), issued the following statement in response to the ICJ ruling: "The ICJ's ruling is a stark reminder of how South Africa, which has become a hub for extremist activities across the African continent, continues to embrace antisemitic ideologies and support state-sponsored terror."

Small continued to say, "Maintaining close ties with and acting on behalf of Iran, Qatar and Hamas, South Africa has become a leading voice for terror. By bringing this case against Israel and in favour of Hamas, South Africa further positions itself as a bad actor on the global stage. The time has come for the international community to recognize and address South Africa's alarming connections with terror-supporting states and entities."

Former Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "Hamas is holding 125 hostages, presumably many in Rafah. The ICJ has just told Israel it’s not allowed to try to save them and must relinquish military leverage. This is not justice. This is a travesty of justice."

International reactions.

Senator Lindsey Graham also responded to the ICJ's ruling in a post on X, stating that "as far as [she is] concerned, the ICJ can go to hell."

Graham further added that "so called international justice organizations" need to be opposed, and that "their anti-Israel bias is overwhelming." She further called the ICJ's ruling "ridiculous," stating that the ruling "will and should be ignored by Israel."

Another politician from the US who responded on X to the ICJ's ruling was House Majority leader Steve Scalise. In his post, Scalise said that Israel's objective is to free the remainig hostages, and "destroy Hamas’ last stronghold. [Israel] must complete this mission."

Scalise further stated, "The ICJ is blinded by anti-Israel bias. Biden must commit to vetoing any UN Security Council resolution that would enforce this outrageous decision."

Britain's National Jewish Assembly condemned the ICJ's decision "vehemently," arguing that the decision was "born out of ignorance and devoid of any practical enforcement mechanism, only serves to embolden terrorist organisations and undermine the principles of international law and justice." “The ICJ’s ruling is not only a grave misstep but a direct affront to justice and morality,” said Gary Mond, Chairman of the NJA. “By undermining Israel’s right to defend its citizens against a genocidal terrorist organisation, the ICJ is not promoting peace but rather denying Israel’s ability to defend its people and territory. This decision must be condemned by all who value truth and justice.”

The NJA further charged that the "ICJ’s ruling exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in Gaza" as "[h]alting military operations against Hamas will not lead to peace but will prolong the suffering of both Israelis and Palestinians.

"The true path to alleviating the humanitarian disaster in Gaza lies in dismantling Hamas’s infrastructure of terror and allowing genuine humanitarian aid to reach those in need without interference from terrorist activities." JPost

Another Anti-Israel Ruling in The Hague The International Court of Justice is detached from reality on Rafah. By The Editorial Board. May 24, 2024 6:19 pm ET.

Is the International Court of Justice paying attention? On Friday the ICJ ruled that Israel “must immediately halt its military offensive,” and other actions in Rafah, “which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.” Such was the dire prediction of Israel’s enemies before the Rafah operation began, but it isn’t reflected on the ground.

The only group Israel aims to destroy in Rafah is Hamas. Since the invasion of the city began nearly three weeks ago, Israel has expertly evacuated about a million Gazans. Because Hamas isn’t party to the ICJ trial, the ruling demands nothing of it, while seeming to tell Israel unilaterally to stop fighting in the terrorists’ last stronghold.

What about the Israelis held hostage in Rafah? The ICJ knows that Hamas refuses to release them, which the ruling calls “deeply troubling.” Well, thanks, but the judges effectively ask Israel to abandon the hostages.

Like most rulings from The Hague, this one will be ignored. Israel rightly says it is already in compliance with the court’s wishes—its Rafah offensive isn’t genocidal, so it need not be halted. No state in Israel’s place could do otherwise. WSJ

Swastikas found carved into toilet doors at Oxford college: Principal slams 'deeply shocking' anti-Semitic graffiti found amid pro-Palestinian protests at university. By Josh White 09:28 24 May 2024, updated 11:39 24 May 2024

Nazi symbols found in two cubicles leaving Jewish students 'deeply upset.' News came as pro-Palestine students arrested trying to occupy university office 'Deeply shocking' swastika graffiti has been found inside an Oxford college, its Principal has said, as pro-Gaza protesters at the elite university clashed with police.

Sir Malcolm Evans, who leads Regent’s Park College, told students 'appropriate action will be taken should we become aware of the identity of those responsible'.

It is understood the Nazi symbols were found on the walls of two toilet cubicles next to the college's Hall - its dining room - leaving Jewish students 'deeply upset'.

His message came on Thursday, as Oxford students tried and failed to occupy a building in their latest demonstration against Israel's war in Gaza, leading to 16 being arrested.

Oxford Action for Palestine, which is attempting to mimic the radical pro-Palestine protests seen on US campuses, said the university had 'enabled an unprecedented level of violence against students' following the clash.

(Police arrested Oxford students trying to occupy a university building yesterday. Protesters outside waving Palestinian flags during an attempted occupation of a building). [...] The violence comes weeks after anti-Israel students set up a 'liberated zone' encampment on a public green in front of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, where those wishing to enter are made to sign an online pledge opposing the 'Zionist entity'.

In his message to students about the incident in Regent's Park College, Sir Malcolm wrote: 'Early this week anti-Semitic graffiti in the form of a number of swastikas was found within the College. This is deeply shocking and is a matter that the College, and I personally, take extremely seriously. Such behaviour has no place here and cannot be considered acceptable under any circumstances.'

He went on to claim: 'We do not know who did this or why it was done; but be assured that appropriate action will be taken should we become aware of the identity of those responsible – as it would in respect of any such display of hatred or hostility towards members of our College, or others.' [...]

But the Union of Jewish Students and the Oxford Jewish Society said the incident might be linked to student union motions in the college about the conflict in the Middle East, a suspicion also held by senior figures in the college who said it was 'hard not to connect' them together.

'We are angered and deeply upset to hear of antisemitic graffiti at Regents Park College, reported by students to be Nazi Swastikas', the Union of Jewish Students and the Oxford Jewish Society said.

'Since October 7th, we have seen an overwhelming surge in antisemitism on campus, and this has only increased in recent weeks. Shamefully, our experiences have been denied and invalidated by JCR and MCR motions accusing us of “weaponising antisemitism”. Accusing minority groups of weaponizing their experiences is a stain on our campus community. Jewish students must not be left alone in the fight against antisemitism.

'We call on the university to show zero tolerance to the antisemitic and hostile atmosphere which has been allowed to flourish at Oxford University.'

Students have been camping out since the start of the month in support of Palestine Oxford Action for Palestine has previously spoken out against the 'university's lack of engagement' with their demands, which include Oxford divesting and boycotting Israel and ending its 'complicity in scholasticide'.

On Saturday, the group staged a 'Gaza die-in' protest outside the Sheldonian Theatre and Bodleian Library while graduations were taking place.

Furious members of the group posted a video on social media on Saturday, accusing a security guard of 'slamming the door on the heads of students protesting ..'.

In fact, the video showed the member of staff weakly prodding them with his foot as he tries to access a door that they are obstructing.

University chiefs were summoned to Downing Street earlier this month to discuss the 'unacceptable' rise of anti-Semitism at universities and the need for campuses to be 'safe' for Jewish students.

A spokesman for Regent's Park College said: 'The College has made it clear that it takes this incident extremely seriously and that it is completely unacceptable. It is a distortion of our statement to suggest otherwise.

'We encourage those who can assist us in identifying those responsible to do so, and it would be irresponsible of us to set out in public investigatory steps being taken. We are actively supporting our students, and will continue to do all we can, including engagement with the statutory authorities, to ensure that all our students feel safe within our College community.'
