The Simpsons is a satirical animated comedy series created by Matt Groening. The Simpsons started on the The Tracey Ullman show in 1987. In December 1989 the show debuted on the Fox Network. The show portrays many questionable morals including pride in underachievement, excessive drinking, and malicious mischief. These, however, should not be taken seriously, as "The Simpsons" is a Comedy. Comedies are not meant to be taken seriously. The show also portrays Idiots (such as Ned Flanders) as being foolish characters.
