Entebbe is a city in Uganda on the shore of Lake Victoria. It was the scene of the 1976 Entebbe Raid, when Israeli commandoes stormed an airliner which had been hijacked by terrorists and flown to Entebbe, where the hijackers received the protection of the Ugandan despot Idi Amin Dada.
