An electron is one of the fundamental particles making up an atom and has a very small mass. It is a lepton with a rest mass of 9.1093897*10^-31kg and carries the fundamental charge of -1.60218925*10^-19 C. An electron is a spin 1/2 particle which obeys Fermi-Dirac Statistics.[1]
