Unsheltered distance or L factor – WEQ is the unsheltered distance along the prevailing wind erosion direction across the field or area to be evaluated. · For NRI, the unsheltered distance is expressed in feet, measured through the sample point, parallel to the prevailing wind direction during the critical wind erosion period.
