Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) refers to nuclear, biological or chemical weapons so powerful that they can kill many thousands or even millions of people. Saddam Hussein's WMD programs, and any production facilities or stockpiles that may have accumulated from it, were cited as one of several pretexts for the removal of the Ba'athist regime in Iraq by the coallition of the willing in 2003.
