Gideons International is an international, non-profit interdenominational Christian organization which spreads the Word of God, usually by placing King James Bibles in hotel rooms and hospitals. The Gideon's first started putting Bibles in hotel rooms in 1908, and since that time have placed 1,400,000,000 (1.4 billion) of them.[1]
