John Howard is the current primeminister of Australia. He is a member of the labor party and was elected in 1990 after defeating Gough Whitlam of the liberal party by a small margin. John Howard is a devout catholic who is noted for wearing large crosses in parliament. He was born on 30th of April 1945.

John Howards early political career started in 1955 when he joined the ACP(Australian Communist Party). He rose quickly through the ranks, attending anti-government protests and rallies. In 1960 he engineered a colatiton between the local anarchist/communist/socialist/crikeyist groups, to lobby the government, and stage large disruptive protests. He continuted this anti-authoritarian stance, until in 1974 he met his mentor Peter Garret, a musician and activist, who's mild ways, swayed John towards the center of politics and towards the labout party. John Howard joined the labour party in 1976 and we elected leader in 1985
