Screamo is a musical genre that derived from 90's emo with screaming in it. Screamo was popularized by bands such as Circle Takes The Square , Envy , Funeral Dinner and others. Screamo is also receiving the same critisism as emo ; as well as being related to the emo subculture.
Recently, screamo has often been confused with other musical genres such as emo, post-hardcore, and experimental rock, mostly due to the fact that non-screamo bands also use screaming techniques. Because of the low number of real screamo bands, it is often difficult to differentiate the genre from other hardcore genres.
