It is Veracruz, not Vera Cruz.

- Back in the 1840's, the U.S. used the two-word "Vera Cruz" for this city, instead of the modern, "Veracruz". I have corrected the entry for the modern name, but left the spelling in Scott's dispatch quotation exactly as it was. Karajou 18:02, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
