The Onion is a weekly parody newspaper audience that pokes fun of many subjects, especially American and world leaders. It does not have any political agenda beyond making fun of authority figures, though it frequently mocks Christian and conservative viewpoints. The mockery is far from limited to just these two viewpoints, however. The Onion was originally published in Madison, Wisconsin, by students attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has since grown to national distribution.
