I realize these words are falling on deaf ears because this site seems to be promoting some sort of alternative interpretation of reality instead of having a more traditional fact-based worldview but anyway I'd just like to point out that many of the world's greatest philanthropists are in fact liberals and atheists/agnostics.
These "uncharitable" and "immoral" persons include:
Warren Buffett
Bill Gates
George Soros
Andrew Carnegie
But I guess their billion dollar donations are just a '''ploy''' to make charitable, god-fearing, conservative "real americans" look bad...
Besides isn't a '''donation from a secular person more unselfish''' than one from a religious person? The religious person is donating money because his god tells him to and he obeys his god because he wants to get into heaven/paradise... so ultimately isn't it just a down payment on a good afterlife for themselves?
Also individual liberties are still very much at the core of liberalism - much more so than any one economic philosophy. Liberals still advocate:
Gay rights
Women's rights
Rights of ethnic minorities
Freedom of (and from) religion
Freedom of speech
Human rights in general
Finally I would just like to remind the good people at conservapedia.com that '''"you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts."''' Seriously... encyclopedias tend to improve with the inclusion of some unbiased facts ;)
