Maoist?
Firstly, let it be known that I am not being polemic; this is just a request of an explaination which, I admit, may stem from my lack of political knowledge.
The question is: how is NION "Maoist"? As far as I know, Maoism differs from other extreme left-wing ideologies (such as Marxism or Leninism) because its focus is on the agrarian countryside; that is, it focuses on peasants rather than urban proletarians.
Given this definition, how is NION "Maoist"? Does the organization appeal to peasants? Is it linked to Chinese Communism? Or are there other unique characteristics of Maoism that I ignore?
