You start drilling into children's heads when they are 4 years old that a man can become a woman, that freedom comes out the barrel of a gun, or that a communion host is the actual physical body of Jesus drained of blood, and by 17 you have a convert for life.  It has nothing to do with God, Christ, or the Christian faith. :::My point is, through the same methodologies and technique - drilling into a kid's head that heteronormative while males are responsible for the world's problems or that priests can grant 3rd party absolution - you arrive at the same result - dedicated footsoldiers who will die to defend the faith.
