The problem here is, this is leftover [[Cold War]] [[rhetoric]] from the 1980s. This "innovation" pitch and other rhetoric was used in the [[Reagan era]] develop things like the [[cell phone]] & [[internet]] (which the [[Democrats]] opposed). The world has changed.

It worked to get [[Congress]] to fund [[DARPA]] Research & Development, [[Wall Street]] to invest in things that could only be imagined, and bring down the stale [[Soviet Union]], but China now (since it for [[FMN]] statuts and whole bunch of other factors) is different animal.
