Mike Lee (b. June 4, 1971) is a constitutional conservative, a constitutional lawyer, a paleolibertarian and is the junior Republican United States Senator from Utah, having won the 2010 election. Lee was backed by the Tea Party Movement and the Senate Conservatives Fund. He scored a primary victory against incumbent Republican Bob Bennett. At the age of 39, Lee is currently the youngest U.S. Senator. He promises to reduce the cost, size and scope of the federal government. His father was an Assistant U.S. Attorney General under President Ford and U.S. Attorney General under Ronald Reagan. Lee's legal career includes a one-year clerkship with Justice Samuel Alito at the U.S. Supreme Court. Mike and his wife Sharon have three children and live in Alpine, Utah.
