{{{book}}} {{{chap}}}:{{{verses}}} ({{{version}}})

The {{Bible ref}} template sets up an external link to BibleGateway for providing a chapter and verse reference for any book of the Bible, in any version in any language. Use it without a verse parameter to quote entire chapters. For framed quotes, use Bible verses in the Bible quote template.

To use, specify the following parameters.

Example: {{Bible ref|book=Matthew|chap=1|verses=1-18|version=ASV}}

  • book = the book of the Bible. Required.
  • chap = the number of the chapter. Required.
  • verses = one verse or a range of verses. Required.
  • version = the version you want the quote in.

You can "subst" this template if you wish.
