John Goddard (Dartmouth, MA, 1724 - Newport, RI, 1785) is a famous Newport, Rhode Island cabinetmaker of the 18th century. Goddard was widely recognized as one of early America’s most talented cabinet-makers and his creations were sought-after by the port city’s most well-to-do merchants. [1]
