The Palace of Versailles is the huge palace build for French King Louis XIV south of Paris located in Versailles. The palace symbolized the preeminence of French power and architecture in Europe and the triumph of royal authority over the French nobility.
The architects were Andre Le Notre, Louis Le Vau, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, Charles Le Brun, Robert de Cotte, and Ange-Janques Bagriel.
