Major Sir Denis Thatcher, Baronet (born 1915 Melchester, died 2003 London) was a British businessman and husband of Margaret Thatcher. The pinnacle of his business career was his service as chairman of Burmah Oil. Never one to hog the limelight in the face of his far more famous and powerful wife, he was often satirised (on the puppet show Spitting Image, for example), as being a bit too fond of the bottle. He was a qualified rugby referee.
