Netflix is a streaming media company founded in 1997. Originally, they were competing with Blockbuster for DVD rentals using a mail order service. Eventually, they became the biggest service to stream movies to your TV by internet for a monthly subscription. Streaming video services requires heavy broadband bandwidth usage. It was reported that YouTube and Netflix account for half of all internet traffic in North America.[1]

Netflix is a worldwide service with more than 70 million subscribers. The have grown to develop their own shows for distribution such as the popular House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. The service can be installed on computers, game consoles, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, tablets and cell phones.
