Toni Morrison (born 1931) is a Nobel Prize-winning American author. Her best known novels are The Bluest Eye, Song of Solomon, and Beloved. Beloved and The Bluest Eye are on the American Library Association's ten most challenged books of 2006.[1] She endorsed Barack Obama in the 2008 US Presidential election.[2]

Stylistically, her writings resemble ones of William Faulkner, Virginia Woolf and James Joyce.
