At least two prominent Never-Trumpers have come out in support of Kavanaugh. I also removed the word "pro-immigration" from the sentence describing Never-Trump opposition to Kavanaugh because French's article doesn't make any pro-immigration arguments.
Line 1: Line 1:
Brett Kavanaugh is a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and President Donald Trump's nominee to the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court left by the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Much of the criticism of Kavanaugh is bizarre.  For example, some claim that because Kavanaugh married a woman who once worked as a secretary to President George W. Bush, Kavanaugh is therefore somehow part of the Bush network.  Another criticism, coming primarily from dark money types, relates to Kavanaugh's ruling that upheld the constitutionality of limits on contributions to political parties in Republican Nat'l Comm. v. FEC, 698 F. Supp. 2d 150 (D.D.C. 2010).
