Adbusters Media Foundation was founded in 1989 as a not-for-profit, anti-consumerist organization. It has over 91,000 members. It declares its aim is to "topple existing power structures and forge a major shift in the way we will live in the 21st century.” Adbusters has sister organizations in France, Norway, Sweden and Japan.
