Wife of President George H. W. Bush. Born Barbara Pierce, she grew up in Rye, New York. The two were engaged in 1943 and married in January 1945.[1]
Barbara Pierce Bush is the name of one of the daughters of President George W. Bush. She is named for her grandmother.
