Heckler and Koch G3 was an innovative 7.62x51mm NATO battle rifle invented in 1956 for Germany by Heckler & Koch GmbH, the famous German gun maker, in collaboration with the Spanish state-owned agency CETME (Centro de Estudios Técnicos de Materiales Especiales). The German Army used it until the early 1970s.[1]
