Biden's deep-rooted anti-female, [[sexist]], misogynist, and bigoted contempt for women was revealed in his oft retelling of the legend of Corn Pop. Corn Pop, was a bad dude. And in Biden's version of the incidents leading up to the life-threatening confrontation, it was sparked by an offhand sexist comment intended to be disparaging toward Corn Pop, but in reality is a disparaging remark toward all women, and particularly competitive and successful women. The events of the original tale is thought to have occurred circa 1962. In Biden's telling, the violent confrontation began with Biden mocking Corn Pop, an African American man, as a woman. According to Biden he provoked the incident at a Wilmington, Delaware public swimming pool when he said to Corn Pop, "Hey, Esther," a reference to three-time US national swimming champion Esther Williams, who went on to a successful Hollywood movie career and was a beauty icon and model of grace and femininity of the era.
