Like most [[Marxism|Marxists]], Trotsky was an avowed [[atheism|atheist]]. During [[World War I]], a Russian pilot was flying through dense clouds above Ararat when he spotted what appeared to be the remains of a very large wooden structure. When he returned to base, he informed [[Czar Nicholas]] of his find, and Czar Nicholas ordered a scientific investigation which immediately resulted in promising archaeological evidence that [[Ark|Noah's Ark]] did indeed lie ruined on the sides of the mountain. Unfortunately, the Czar was soon disposed of by the Bolsheviks, and all of the evidence gathered by the expedition was given to Trotsky who either hid or disposed of it, knowing that the find would undermine the [[Dialectic Materialism]] from which [[Communism]] derived its social theories.<ref>http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0272/0272_01.asp</ref>
