HispanTV is a news network made up by the Iranian Regime in order to subvert Spanish speaking countries with far-left and islamist narratives. Pablo Iglesias, an important Spanish left-wing figure has been present in the channel.
On January 24, 2012, Iran inaugurated Hispan TV, the first Spanish-language satellite channel broadcast from the Middle East. The channel, airing 24/7, features news, documentaries, and films, targeting millions of Spanish speakers worldwide.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad celebrated the launch, describing it as a tool to challenge "dominance seekers" and strengthen ties between Iran and Spanish-speaking nations. The initiative follows Ahmadinejad's recent visits to Latin America, including Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Ecuador, aiming to bolster relations with the region.
The launch comes amid heightened tensions with the West over Iran's nuclear program, with the EU and U.S. imposing tougher sanctions, including an oil embargo and financial restrictions. Iran denies accusations of pursuing nuclear weapons, asserting its program is for peaceful purposes.
Iran also operates channels in English (Press TV) and Arabic (Al-Alam TV), among other languages.[1][2]
