Autodidacticism (Self-education) is the practice of education and/or learning skills without the guidance of schools/schoolmasters (i.e., teachers, professors, institutions, mentors). A person who is self-taught is an autodidact.
"To become an autodidact, actively choose a subject you're interested in, set clear learning goals, actively seek out diverse learning materials like books, online courses, and videos, develop a consistent study routine, and most importantly, cultivate a curious mindset that encourages critical thinking and independent learning throughout your life journey; essentially, taking ownership of your education outside of a formal institution by actively pursuing knowledge on your own terms."[1]
