Wholphins are the result of interbreeding between P. crassidens and T. truncatus. Unlike most hybrids, wholphins are not infertile and as a result are capable of producing offspring.[1] Such unorthodox unions are not restricted to captivity, with documented sightings of wholphins off the coast of Hawaii.[1]
