I wasn't talking about his poularity, or his ratings. (Even though Bill O'Reilly's ratings are down 17% and Countdown is up 40%). I was only showing that I try to listen to both arguments. Chris Matthews is certainly a journalist, and "Washed up"? He's been a broadcast journalist, newspaper bureau chief, Presidential speechwriter, and best-selling author. He worked for 15 years as a print journalist, 13 of them as Washington Bureau Chief for The San Francisco Examiner (1987 - 2000), and two years as a national columnist for The San Francisco Chronicle, which was syndicated to 200 newspapers by United Media. He's won the David Brinkley for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism, The Abraham Lincoln Award from the Union League of Philadelphia, and in 2005 he received the Gold Medal Award from the Pennsylvania Society.
You're fooling yourself if you think he's not a journalist. And you're simply ignorant if you think that he was ever washed up. I think that because his views disagree with yours, you'll do anything to make him into a low good for nothings journalist. Well I look at both sides of the spectrum, and I don't allow my opinions to interfere with my job. I'm signing off now, so don't expect me to continue arguing.
