The Chronicler extensive use of historical documents and devotion to numerical and chronologically detail such as in Second Chronicles 14:1-9 and 16:12-13 show he wished his readers to have an extremely accurate perspective to his historical record. This book is not entirely based on history; the Chronicler also wrote to convey a relevant theological message. It was written to encourage and guide the reader as he sought the full restoration of the kingdom.
