European Liberalism is a term used to describe the predominant Liberal political culture in Europe. In contrast with American Liberalism, European Liberals tend to favor less government control of the economy in contrast to their social democratic or Socialist rivals for power. Most of the European Christian Democrat parties can be consider to be Liberal in the European sense.
