David Beckham (b. England 2 May 1975) is an English football (soccer) star. He is the world’s richest footballer. He is the former England captain, and continues to be selected for his country although he now plays club football in America. Beckham made his name as a player with English club Manchester United and spent a period at Spanish club Real Madrid. In January 2007, he left Real and signed a five-year contract with Los Angeles Galaxy.
