The Neolithic Age was the second part of the Stone age. The Paleolithic Age was the first. Farming became popular during the Neolithic Age as opposed to the hunting and gathering which were favored in the Paleolithic age.
According to some anthropologists, the first two Neolithic stages allegedly took place around 8500BC to 7000BC. Some forms of Creationism believe the Neolithic Age took place in the more recent past.
