The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Christ.  Jon answered them all, "I baptize you wit water.  But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.  He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.  His winnowing fork is in is hand to clear his threshing floor and o gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

The "chaff" referred to in this passage is no doubt the (political) sin committed by Julius Caesar, and the "winnowing fork" in the Lord's hand is symbolic of the senator's daggers.

The Ides of March 2007 is also the day on which I destroyed my chances of winning my NCAA bracket by placing Davidson in the finals with OSU.  This chaff was burned up in the first round.  My sandals have been untied.
