The Pope (from Latin "papa", father) is the [[head]] of the [[Catholic]] church. Today the pope is [[Pope Benedict XVI]], who joined the Hitler Youth when he turned fourteen and joined the Nazi German anti-aircraft corps when he turned sixteen. Although he strongly opposes abortion, he also opposes torture and pre-emptive war.
