Saint Bernadette (1844 – 1879), is a saint of the Roman Catholic belief. She reported apparitions of Virgin Mary. Bernadette's body remained "incorruptible" after death which was evidence for her holiness and the shrine at Lourdes is a major pilgrimage destination.
She was recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1993. Her feast day is April 16th.
