If we imagine a dot and join a line between that dot and a second we have one dimension, up and down. If we draw a dot on one side of the line and a second dot on the side with a line crossing through the centre we have two dimensions, up and down and side to side. By folding this cross together we create three dimensions which is the world we live. This is where it becomes difficult to imagine any further. Although we live our lives traveling through time where are not aware of its dimensional state because we are three dimensional beings. This is quite a lot for a mind to grasp however there have been many attempts to explain this.
