He was drafted 13th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, who traded him to the Lakers several days later.
With the Lakers, Bryant has won three NBA Championships and played in ten All-Star games. He also scored 81 points in a game against the Toronto Raptors on January 22, 2006, the second highest single game scoring total in NBA history.
