Zachary Taylor served as [[William Henry Harrison|Harrison's]] vice president for a short time becuase of his death to pnewmonia early in his term.  There running campaign motto was "Log Cider and Hard Cabins," enhanceing the rustic nature of the partner's lifestyles and "Tip a Canoe and Taylor to," and remain famous today.  After Harrison's early death Taylor ascendancy to the white house poisition was controversial because he was a [[Democrat]], while Harrison had once been a [[whig]].  People had accepted the presidency to be a whig and were not happy when the balance of power shifted to the other side after his death.  As result of this, Taylor vetoad most bills supporting whig policy.
