James A. Hemenway (1860-1923) was a Republican United States Represenative and later a Senator from Indiana. Hemenway was a United States representative from 1895 to 1905, when he became a United States Senator, taking the place of Charles Fairbanks who had gone on to become the 26th Vice President of the United States.[1]
