The divorce rate In the [[United States]] is slightly among committed Christians than in the general population.  There are no statistics about the numbers of Christians who stay in unhappy and/or abusive marriages because they believe that divorce is sinful. By contrast atheists and agnostics are under no pressure to stay in unhappy relationships but they divorce less often.  Secular websites argue that this is because they "try each other out" and find out if they are sexually compatible before marrying and starting a family.  Sometimes they live together and find out if they are totally compatible before making a longterm commitment and starting a family.  In that case when a relationship breaks up the break happens without children involved.

The Word of God approves only one sexual relationship: that between a husband and wife within marriage.

Sexual continence is abstaining from sexual actions until married, and remaining strictly faithful within marriage.

What's right is always smart, and always for your good. Sex is not just something you do—sex is someone you are. It is linked to the welfare of your whole person. [1]
