Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania, and the sixth most populous city in the United States.[1]

The name Philadelphia comes from the Greek words philos, "love", and adelphos "brother". This is where the nickname The City of Brotherly Love comes from.

It was home to the First and Second Continental Congresses, and was the location for the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitutional Convention was also held in Philadelphia. The city was temporarily the capital of the United States, before it was permanently settled in Washington, D.C.
