In copyright, trademark, and patent law an authorized user is a person designated in a licensing agreement as having permission to access or otherwise use the subject matter of the agreement, such as an image, service or trademark, information, sculpture, or process.
Credit card agreements frequently permit an authorized user to incur charges on a card without being obligated to make payments.
Alternatively, an authorized user is anyone who is not an unauthorized user.
