Counterterrorism is the action(s) of neutralizing terrorist cells and operatives in the United States and to help dismantle terrorist networks worldwide.
In the U.S., several Federal agencies are involved in Counterterrorism efforts, such as the FBI. Internationally Interpol helps coordinate the efforts of its member states.
Some liberals want to weaken counterterrorism agencies and replace them with peaceful groups that cannot fight off a terror attack.
